*Position Summary* We are a busy and growing multi-doctor group of veterinary dermatology specialty clinics. We are looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team and work with our new doctor at our Vancouver location. The ideal candidate values maintaining a collegial working culture and prioritizes embracing the strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization. This position offers in-depth experience and specialization is available to those that would like to advance their career in this technical field. *Company Benefits* * Monday to Friday schedule with 1 or 2 evenings per week (8pm) * All weekends and statutory holidays off * Competitive compensation package * 2 weeks paid vacation to start; 3 weeks paid vacation on 3rd anniversary; 4 weeks paid vacation on 5th anniversary * Additional unpaid vacation available * Extended medical, dental, and vision care * Paid CVBC/BCVTA membership dues * Continuing education * Attendance at the North American Veterinary Dermatology Forum * Staff discount * Uniform allowance * Company events and lunches * No emergencies or euthanasia *Duties and Responsibilities* * Prepare and administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian * Prepare patient samples for laboratory analysis * Prepare and assist with medical procedures * Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure their well-being * Admit and discharge patients; Educate clients with home care instructions as required * Administrative duties including email/phone communication and maintaining accurate medical records * Follow all SOPs to support smooth clinic operations *Qualifications* The ideal candidate will have: _*Education and Experience*_ * Graduate from an accredited animal health or veterinary technology college program * Successful completion of the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) * Previous experience working as an RVT is preferred; new graduates are welcome _*Soft Skills Required*_ * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong desire to learn and excel * Compassionate; Aptitude for making clients feel welcomed and comfortable * Self-motivated with a positive attitude * Attentive to detail * Strong time management and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize _*Technical Skills Required*_ * Blood collection, catheter placement * Perform low stress patient handling and optimal care * Proficient in anesthetic induction/maintenance * Cornerstone and computer troubleshooting experience is an asset Visit our website to learn more about us at https://www.vetderm.ca/!
