<p>Designated Early Childhood Educator - Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario <p>Rates of Pay - Qualified DECE - $24.80/hour - $31.80/hour (Salary Commensurate with Experience and Qualifications)<p>Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) is situated in beautiful Northwestern Ontario. KPDSB serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala. Additional information regarding the Board is available on the Boards web site at http://www.kpdsb.on.ca/.<p>RESPONSIBILITIES The Early Childhood Educator, under the direction of the<p>Principal, will work in partnership with the Classroom Teacher, parents, other<p>early childhood educators, educational support staff and special education<p>staff. They will be responsible for<p>supporting early learning in an enriched learning environment designed to help<p>children develop the foundational social, emotional, academic and physical<p>skills necessary to succeed in school and in life, as well as support the<p>extension of learning into the childs home. <p>Duties will include planning and implementing the Early Learning Program<p>under the guidance of the Principal, working collaboratively with all staff to<p>track the developmental progress of all children, providing support to the<p>teacher in writing report cards, participating in parent-teacher conferences,<p>creating an inclusive learning environment, providing proactive and reactive<p>interventions, providing oversight to support the health, safety and well being<p>of children in the program and facilitating home/school communication, as well<p>as other duties as assigned by the Principal.<p>QUALIFICATIONS <p>Ontario High School Diploma or equivalent as well as a<p>Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education and registration with the<p>Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is required. <p>This<p>position is ten months per year (September to June/school year).<p>One reference must be a<p>recent/immediate supervisor. <p>Authorization to contact the references under the terms of the Municipal<p>Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act must also be<p>included.Kelsey Wellwood, Human Resources Officer<p>The Board thanks all applicants for indicating their interest in this position, however, <p>only those selected for a personal interview will be contacted. <p>Confidential information provided by<p>applicants will be used for the purposes of this competition only and will be<p>protected in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and<p>Protection of Privacy Act. <p>This Board is an equal opportunity employer <p>The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board encourages applications from people with disabilities. <p>Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process .Christy Radbourne, Director of Education Roger Griffiths, Board Chair
